Folios 86-87. Copy of a letter Samuel Wharton to Mr Bancroft, at Paris, under cover to Monsieur Grand, dated at London, partly written in numerical cant code, concerning financial matters. Mentions: 'Goode's affair', an estate in New York valued at £5,000; and Mrs Bearda and the little ones. Filed with a note: 'In the cover of the London Evening Post from Mrs Wharton directed to Mr Maisonville at Mr Grad's at Paris is wrote: 'Have I made a bad use of Mr S__rt__ne's letter?'
