Letter dated at St James's from Lord Suffolk to the Lord Advocate of Scotland that the King is pleased with the 'seasonable and effective steps taken in conjunction with the Solicitor-General to check the emigration which is much to be lamented has, for some time prevailed in so great a degree from the northern parts of this island'.
