Folios 81-84. Folios 81-82. Letter dated at the Admiralty from George Jackson to John Pownall. 'The instructions which Bond had for this morning's interview were chiefly calculated to have it understood that the men must be relieved from paying for their passages in hopes that Lawrence would promise payment by Alderman Lee, or some of the Committee at New York: and to engage them both as principals in the transaction as far as could be done'. With the letter is enclosed: Folios 83-84. Minutes of his conversation with Bond on the latter's second interview with Lawrence regarding the shipwrights to be conveyed to New York in connection with which Alderman Lee is frequently mentioned.
