Description

Folios 61-64. Folios 61 and 63. Note dated at Trinity House [London] from Mr [William] James, Deputy Master, to Sir Stanier Porten that 'the positive orders are given to the pilots under the direction of the Trinity House, not to proceed with any ship or vessel below Gravesend before she shall have been visited by the officers of the Customs'. Folio 62. A copy of the orders given. Endorsed 'Read by The King'.
