Folios 34-35. Letter dated at London from Captain Thos [Thomas] Wilkinson to Lord Rochford seeking reimbursement of his expenses for transporting, pursuant to orders, Consul Charles Logie and servants from England to Gibraltar in July 1772; Consul Bayntun, his family and servants from Gibraltar to Tripoli in 1772 and twice in 1774 and Consul Logie and retinue six times from Gibraltar to Tetuan and Tangier and waiting with them until Logie had finished his business. He also asks for reimnbursement of his 'great expense in preparing for the entertainment' of Ibrahim Aga, Ambassador from the Bashaw of Tripoli, his retinue and servants who he was ordered by Rear Admiral Sir Peter Davis to take from Gibraltar to Tripoli 'immediately upon their coming to Gibraltar' but they did not arrive before he was ordered home. Wilkinson has been informed that there is no established provision made by government and advised that the regulation of such matters belongs to Rochford's Department.
