Folios 30-33. Folio 30. Letter dated at Shadwell from Jno [John] Sherwood to Sir Stanier Porten asking that the King's permission be obtained for the enclosed advertisement to be inserted in 'tomorrow's Gazette'. Sherwood comments 'the case of this poor man is truly pitiable, having lost his All'. Folio 31. Advertisement offering the King's pardon to any one of those concerned in the burglary and burning of Samuel Robinson's house near Pelican Stairs, St Paul's Shadwell who discovers his or her accomplice or accomplices. As a further encouragement a reward is offered to be paid on conviction of one or more offenders.
