Folios 235-236. Letter dated at Sibton from Mr Scrivener to [Lord Rochford] giving details of the action he took on receiving the latter's letter. He asks that Rochford give the same powers as he gave Scrivener to the Justices of the county at large or at least to those he names as well as to the Commissioners of the Land Tax. Scivener says that there is a cattle fair to be held on 12 May in the same parish as the outbreak and although he will send out notices to the market towns ordering in the King's name for a stop to be put, the time is so short he fears they cannot be obeyed. Copy.
