Folios 233-234. Letter dated at St James's from [Lord Rochford] to Mr Scrivener passing on the King's approval of Scivener's speedy action. He sends copies of the Orders in Council of 22 March 1747 and 9 December 1769, authorises Scrivener to observe and follow the same rules as were laid down in the Orders and promises that he (Scrivener) will be indemnified for all charges and expenses. Rochford asks for daily reports. Copy.
