Folios 193-195. Folios 193-194. Letter dated at Boulton Row from the Duke of St Albans to [the Earl of Suffolk] that he is obliged to Suffolk for speaking to Lord North and the readiness the former showed to concur with the latter and the other Cabinet lords to obtain him 'some assistance from the Crown in' his 'distressed and embarrassed situation'. He goes on to say that he believed from Lord North's repeated professions of service that out of humanity North would have recommended the King to grant some temporary relief until such time as a suitable place became available. He takes issue with North's statement that the two annuities St Alban's already receives are paid out of the Exchequer and that having already made personal application to the King he is rather doubtful of securing a second audience. He asks Suffolk to present his Memorial [not filed here] to the King. Folio 195. Letter dated at St James's from the Earl of Suffolk to the Duke that he presented the latter's Memorial to the King who 'put in his pocket without expressing his pleasure one way or the other on the occasion'.
