Note dated at Hicks's Hall from Sir John Hawkins to Lord Suffolk that from all the information he has been able to obtain through the High Constable of the Tower division he has been unable to find any reason to fear an insurrection of the weavers. He does, nevertheless think it may be expedient to warn them and others of the legal consequences of 'riotous and tumultuous assemblies. Enclosed with the note: Folio 99. An invitation to the Journeymen Weavers to meet at 9 o'clock on the morning of Friday April 23 at Moorfields 'to receive proposals for the good of your trade'. Printed.
