Folios 48-53. Letter dated at Boston from Robert Barlow to 'My Lord' [?Lord Robert Bertie] relating the events that led to his wife being wounded by a shot fired through the window of his keeping room and seeking his Lordship's assistance to obtain the King's pardon for one of the two people who fired their guns into the room. Barlow will offer a reward of £500 payable on conviction. Folio 49-50. A further letter from Robert Barlow to 'My Lord' that having held himself responsible for payment of the £500 reward he desires that his name be inserted in the Gazette as a security for the payment on conviction of one or more of those who fired into his room. Folio 51. Another letter from Robert Barlow giving his reasons for offering such a large reward for the discovery of the men who wounded his wife. Folio 52. Draft of an advertisement of pardon and reward for the discovery of the person who fired musket balls through Robert Barlow's windows.
