Folio 214. Letter dated at Exeter [Devon] from Monsieur Hop Van Hose to the Earl of Rochford. Being lately in London on private affairs the writer was unable to obtain an audience with the earl as he was turned away by his.Lordship's staff. The matter relating to the dissatisfaction of the electors of a town near Exeter with one of their members in Parliament. Not wanting to say more on paper, as he would prefer to communicate by word of mouth.
