Folios 197-201. Letter dated at Jermyn Street [London] from J [James] Sampson [former British Consul at Tetuan, Morocco] to Lord Rochford principally about his request for payment allowance as was made to his predecessors Mr [Joseph] Popham and Mr Latten. He also writes about the adverse effect on British trade in the Mediterranean of the use of British Admiralty passes contrary to law and encloses (folio 200) a list he compiled while in Gibraltar, of the names some masters of vessels he was informed improperly use the passes.
