Letter dated at Pall Mall [London] from Egerton Leigh [Attorney-General of South Carolina] to 'My Lord' [?Rochford] that as he is embarking for South Carolina at the latest in ten to twelve days he would like to know the outcome of his Lordship's last application to the King as to obtain the honour [of a baronetcy] before his departure 'would be not only desirable but beneficial in its effects'.
