Folios 169-170. Letter dated at Custom House, London from Edwd [Edward] Stanley to Richard Sutton giving details of the armed attack on the 'Prince Ernest', a shallop in the service of the Penzance Customs, by a large vessel thought to be an Irish wherry. The Commissioners have offered a reward of £200 for apprehending any of the offenders to be paid on conviction but, fearing this will not be a sufficient inducement, ask that the King's promise of a pardon to any one of the offenders be published in The London Gazette.
