Description

Folio 149. Josias Cuningham to the King. Petition that having been taken by John or James Pryke (who claimed to be a Yeoman of the Guard) and William Williams under the pretence of being brought before William Kynaston one of the Westminster Justices of the Peace, he was forcibly put aboard the 'Isabella', William Randall master, taken to Ireland and placed in a madhouse from which he escaped. Cuningham had Pryke and Williams arrested and they are to be tried at the next Commission. He prays for financial assistance to enable him to carry on the prosecution 'and that Pryke will be discharged [from the Yeoman of the Guard]'.
