Folios 146-147. Letter dated at Dublin [Ireland] from Josias Cuningham to Lord Rochford. 'I am extremely sorry to inform you I have been under a necessity to put off the trials of Pryke and Williams until next Commission of Oyer and Terminer it was on a false affidavit of those villains of a material witness being absent since that they were taken on a writ by permission of Baron Scott for two hundred pounds to which they must give me bail or lie in prison; the Baron said this was purely for the false imprisonment in Ireland and could he have taken that imprisonment and assault in England for five months and upwards he would have granted ten times that sum - I find all the middling sort of people here so far Americanised that they would have all people of the same opinion or treat them as enemies. They pretend a concern for Government while they are secretly sending people] to and formenting the American opposition to Government and in everything show the King has few real friends in this country and England less'.
