Folios 133-136. Folio 133 and 136. Letter dated at King's Bench from Robert Holloway to Lord Rochford at Berkeley Square giving the history of events leading him to seek protection as a person whose activity in political disputes has created infinite and powerful enemies notwithstanding he is in the service of Baron de Berlendis [Venetian Minister to the Court of St James's] he finds himself 'unprotected from the rage of a miscreant junto of patriots' who have seized him under pretence of a debt 'for the infamous purpose of depriving [him] of [his] liberty 'the more effectually to prevent [his] assiduity in detecting that Arch Imposter John Wilkes'. In a post script he says that he has just been informed 'and by circumstances confirmed that Mr Wilkes was with the Attorney-General every day from the day' Holloway was arrested to the day the matter came before him. With almost complete seal. Folios 134-136. Affidavit of John William Leo of Bedford Row [London], sworn at Serjeants' Inn before W H Ashurst, against Robert Holloway in the case of William Priddle against Robert Holloway. Copy, the original being in the hands of the Attorney-General.
