Letter dated at Clapham [Surrey] from Sir Wm [William] Meredith to [Sir] Rd [Richard] Sutton [under Secretary of State, Southern Department] requesting the names and place of birth of the captives now in Barbary and the amount per head thought necessary to send at present and what other sums are wished for. The money is to be paid by the Ironmongers' Company into Sir William's hands.
