Description

Folios 126-127. Letter dated at Salisbury Court, Fleet Street [London] from Wm [William] and Jn [John] Richardson to Lord Rochford offering, for lodging with the rest of the His Majesty's State Papers, the more than 3,000 letters exchanged between 'the celebrated Sir Thos [Thomas] Roe and the most distinguished personages then in Europe'. They explain how the letters came into their possession and say that they 'are thought to be of some importance by Sir Joseph Ayloffe and Mr Astle of the Paper Office'.
