Folios 99-100. Folio 99. James Faynard, lately of Paris, to the Earl of Rochford that he has the secret of making a powder that will immediately stop the flow of blood from any limb cut or shot off as well as any wound to horses without the assistance of a ligature and offers this for consideration. He 'is willing to make any farther experiment upon either man or horse if required'. Folio 100. Copy of a certificate relating to Mr Faynard's Powder; legalised by the Lord Mayor of London and the Ambassador of France.
