Folios 88-89. Letter from Richd [Richard] Rigby [Paymaster to the Forces] written at Lord Gower's to [Lord Rochford] taking a somewhat sanguine view of the accounts from Essex. He will go to Ingatestone [for the meeting called by Lord Rochford] unless things have become quieter. He writes that Lord Barrington says it is impossible at present to spare more troops for Essex and thinks himself that a very few will be found sufficient if the magistrates are obliged to make use of them.
