Folios 60-61. Petition of Catherine Irwin, widow of Lieutenant-General [Alexander] Irwin to the King. Her late husband served under King William in Flanders and in all of the Duke of Marlborough's campaigns, was promoted to the command of the 5th Regiment of Foot on the Irish Establishment and died on full pay 23 Jun 1752. 'Unwilling to be troublesome to Government' she did not apply for a pension until she petitioned the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland in November 1770. Although the petition was granted the pension was not back-dated to 1752 for which she now prays. Endorsed 'not granted'.
