Folios 340-344. Folio 340. Nathan Smith of Fenchurch Street London, painter stainer, to the King. Petition for Letters Patent for his inventions of 'a certain composition to be used as the ground work in the making of painted floor cloths devoid of all size glue or any other ingredient now used' and a machine to be used in applying it on cloth intended for floor cloths. Referral to the Attorney or Solicitor-General signed by the Earl of Egremont. Folio 341. Nathan Smith's affidavit in support of his petition. Folios 342-344. Attorney-General's report to the King recommending that Smith's petition be granted subject to the usual proviso for enrolment in Chancery of a written description.
