Folios 323-326. Folio 323. Robert Elsden of St Luke Old Street, London, weaver, and George Glasgow of Manchester [Lancashire] weaver, to the King. Petition for Letters Patent for their invention 'of a new method of weaving and quilting in the loom, cloth of linen, woollens, silk, worsted, cotton and mohair, either separately or any two or more of them mixed or joined together in every method, fashion and figure, as well in imitation of the common manner of quilting as of India, French and Marseilles quilting'. Referral to the Attorney or Solicitor-General signed by the Earl of Egremont. Folio 324. Affidavit of Robert Elsden and George Glasgow in support of their petition. Folios 325-326. Attorney-General's report to the King recommending that Elsden and Glasgow's petition be granted subject to the usual proviso for enrolment in Chancery of a written description.
