Folios 132-135. Letter from [Jacob David] Kluft to [Edward] Weston. Owing to ill health he is unable to provide a translation of the enclosed letter but explains its contents. The writer is a commissary in the Allied Army and belongs to Lieutenant-General Wangenheim's Corps. He has discovered a remedy for the 'epidemical distemper' in horned cattle which he is willing to disclose if his monthly allowance of 15 ducats is raised to the highest amount and settled on him in such a way that at the end of the war 'he may retain and hold it for life with liberty to spend and enjoy it where he chooses'. He asks that in the meanwhile his name and remedy remain concealed. Folios 133-135. Enclosure in German.
