Folios 121-124. Folios 121. Stephen Remnant of Woolwich, Master Smith to the Office of Ordnance, to the King. Petition for Letters Patent for his invention of cast iron gun carriages 'whereby the lives of the gunners and others employed in serving the guns will not be so subject to danger in time of action'. Referral to the Attorney or Solicitor-General signed by W [William] Pitt. Folio 122. Stephen Remnant's affidavit in support of his petition. Folios 123-124. Attorney-General's report recommending that the petition be granted on the terms requested on condition that within a reasonable time Remnant enrols in Chancery a description of his invention.
