Folios 138-139: Bartholomew Roberts, HMS Espiegle, Yarmouth. Reports that a French lugger privateer was seen in Smith's Knowl, a sighting confirmed by the Black Joke lugger, which he has attempted to find. He returned yesterday to convoy the trade bound to Hamburgh. He has detained and sent into Yarmouth the Den Unge Hendricke of Bergen bound to France laden with fish and also the ann Martha from Hambro bound to Genoa laden with allum, beef, pitch, nails, pease, beans, iron and hair powder.
