Folios 305-306. Teresa [signs Teress] Cornelys's to the King. Memorial praying, for the reasons she gives, the grant of 'a Patent for the exhibition of musical dramatic entertainments by private subscription of the nobility and gentry, as the only means of saving her from destruction, and of giving her, at last, such recompense as she may reasonably hope for, from the uncommon intenseness of her labours'. The late Duke of York [Prince Edward younger brother of the King] is mentioned.
