Folios 299-300. Folio 299. Letter from Archd [Archibald Winter] to the brother of Thomas Wilks reporting the latter's shooting and wounding by an unknown person. He mentions William Ranby and John Hammond as being present when Wilks was shot and that he has not yet had time to write to Sir Charles [Frederick]. Letter dated at Brothertoft [Lincolnshire]. Folio 300. Advertisement promising the King's pardon to any of the persons, other than the person who fired the gun, involved in the shooting of Thomas Wilks. In addition a reward of £100 will be paid by Sir Charles Frederick to the person making the discovery on conviction of any one or more of the offenders.
