Folios 291-293. Folios 291-292. Letter from Francis Steward, Mayor of Weymouth [Dorset] to 'My Lord' [the Earl of Sandwich] that four pilots and four townspeople went on board the ketch 'Young Frederick', master Christian Hervey, bound from Stettin [Prussian Pomerania] to Bordeaux, in ignorance of where she had come from and the necessity they would be under to quarantine. Those eight people are now isolated in a small vessel moored some distance from Weymouth and Steward requests instructions as to how to proceed. The 'Young Frederick' is 42 days out of Stettin, has a certificate of health and the crew all well. There is a note that a copy was sent to the Council Office 26 December. Folio 293. Lord Sandwich's reply approving the steps Steward has taken and that Steward will receive instructions from the Council Office.
