The Welsh Office's Economic and Regional Policy Group was responsible for all aspects of economic and industrial matters in Wales. This included the administration of urban and rural development grants, EC programmes and grants. The Group was also responsible for rural development, tourism, the countryside and nature conservation.The Group was also responsible for the policy aspects of the regeneration of Cardiff Bay and liasion with the Cardiff Bay Development Corporation.
