Folios 404-414: CB number 01478 O.X.O, Copy number 10, UB.109 Interrogation of Survivors, September 1918.

Folio 405: Cover sheet, UB.109.

Folio 406: Table of Contents.

Folio 407: Initial Proceedings of UB.109 (sunk on 29 August 1918. Built by Blohm and Voss. Commissioned by Lieut.-Commander Kurt Ramien on 31 December 1917. Following trial at Kiel arrived Zeebrugge on 30 March 1918.

Folio 407: First Cruise of UB.109. Left Bruges on 6 April 1918 and passed through English Channel to Irish Sea. Torpedoed three ships and returned to Bruges on 25 April.

Folios 408-409: Last Cruise of UB.109. Test cruise to the Azores. Left Zeebrugge on 27 July 1918. Depth charged while passing through Dover Barrage sustaining no damage. Entered Funchal harbour Madeira but no ship found. Passed between islands of Azores. Sank three steamers and proceeded up the English Channel. Track chart of UB. 109, outward and homeward, 28 July to 29 August 1918.

Folio 409: Sinking of UB.109. On 29 August 1918 while submerged, a heavy explosion shook the submarine and she sank to the bottom taking on a large quantity of water. Survivors escaped through conning-tower and forward hatches. The commanding officer, acting navigation warrant officer and six petty officers and men were rescued by the trawler D.10.

Folio 409: Details of UB.109. Note: See report on UB.55. Details of UB.109 to be issued in separate report.

Folio 410: Survivors of UB.109. Lieut.-Commander Kurt Ramien joined the navy in 1908. After service in battleship Kaiser Wilhelm I, light cruiser Hansa and gunboat Pfeil, joined submarine service in 1915 serving in UC.48. Other survivors were pleased that their perilous career was ended.

Folio 413: Miscellaneous. New Motor Boats (?Rennbotte?), Destroyer V.74, Air Raids on Bruges and Zeebrugge.
