Folio 307: Preliminary Notes. UB. 72 sunk on 12 May 1918. The only three survivors were all making their first cruise in a submarine on active service.
Folios 307-309: Last Cruise of UB.72. Left Heligoland on 29 April 1918 and proceeded via Fair Isle to the entrance to North Channel. Patrolled in the Irish Sea and arrived off Brest on 10 May. On morning of 12 May headed towards Cherbourg on the surface when stuck by a torpedo fired by British submarine D.4 which then rescued the survivors.
