Folio 144: There were six survivors of whom two officers provided most of the information.
Folio 144-146: UB.81 proceeded from Zeebrugge on 28 November 1917 passing through Dover Barrage. Lost anchor and cable making depth keeping and steering difficult. While in Channel, attacked for convoys sinking S.S. Molesey. On 30 November following an explosion aft, water entered boat. While the stern was resting on the bottom the CO trimmed the boat to get the top of the bow tubes above water. Six of the crew escaped through these although others were reluctant to do so. Patrol Boat P.32 approached and while rescuing the survivors, bumped UB.81 causing it to sink. Plate 1: Track of UB.81, 28-30 Nov. 1917 (folio 145).
