Description

Captured ship: Anne and Margaret of Tonsberg (master Michel Christiansen).

History: a Danish Norwegian merchant ship (80 tons), bound from Tonsberg, Norway to Chatham, Ostend and Dunkirk, laden with deal boards and spars; taken on 11/21 April 1691, off the South Foreland by HMS Portsmouth (William Whetstone commanding), and brought into the Downs.
