Description

Folios 137-140. Folio 137. Thomas Pease, smith and spring maker of St George's Hanover Square, Middlesex, to the King. Petition for Letters Patent for his invention of 'a machine and spring for rendering coaches, chariots, chaises or any other vehicle to hang more steady, safe and easy than any hitherto invented, by means of which every spring has its equal bearing'. Referral signed by the Duke of Richmond. Folio 138. Thomas Pease's affidavit in support of his petition. Folio 139. Attorney-General's report to the King recommending, with the usual proviso for enrolment, that Pease's petition be granted.
