Attorney-General's report to the King recommending, with the usual proviso for enrolment, that the petition of Benjamin Martin, optician of Fleet Street [London] for Letters Patent for his invention of 'an hydraulic engine in the nature of a pump for raising water' should be granted in any part of the King's dominions 'where the same may be found to be useful'. Signed C [Charles] Yorke. Folio 113. Benjamin Martin to the King. Petition for Letters Patent for his invention. Referral to the Attorney or Solicitor-General signed by the Duke of Richmond. Folio 114. Benjamin Martin's affidavit in support of his invention.
