Folios 61-62. Mr Baron [George] Perrott's certificate to [the Duke of Grafton] on the case of Thomas Evans capitally convicted at Gloucester for robbing James Young 'a pig driver [drover]' of nearly £80 when he was on the road from Gloucester to Sandhurst. Perrott says it is necessary that examples should be made and thinks 'Evans very proper to be one of them'. John Hosier, a former militia man, was Evans's partner in the crime.
