Mr Justice [Henry] Bathurst's report recommending a free pardon for Elizabeth Garth convicted at York on the Northern Circuit for receiving 'a fat ewe sheep' from her sons James and George knowing it to be stolen. [Note that according to a report in the Derby Mercury the trial took place in 1766].
