Description

Folios 48-54A. Folio 48. Letter from Thomas Whately, Treasury Chambers, to Edward Sedgwick enclosing:- folio 49. a copy of a letter from Chauncy Townshend contractor for victualling the forces in Newfoundland vindicating himself from a complaint of neglect in providing provisions for the troops at St John's; folios 50-51. Certificate from the Comptrollers of the Accounts of the Army of receipts for provisions supplied; folios 52-53. Letter from Captain Hugh Palliser to Chauncy Townshend; folios 54-54A Certificate from Captain Stephen Gually late Commanding Officer at St John's.
