Folios 44-47. Folio 44. Letter from Robert Nettleton, Treasurer to the Committee of the Palatines, to the Earl of Halifax enclosing a petition from 19 French [protestant] families 'in the utmost distress' who 'are very desirous of being transported' to Carolina. He asks that Halifax recommend the petition to the King. Folio 45. Petition addressed to 'the truely compationate [sic] Benefactors who so charitably assisted the poor Palentines [sic]'. At the foot of the petition is a nota bene that the 'petitioners are desirous if possible to join the colony which went about two years ago with Mr Gilbert and who are inspected by Mr Boutilon'. Folio 46. List of Palatines with the numbers in their respective families.
