Description

Captured ship: Anna Ursula otherwise Juffrouw Anna Nora of Elbing (master Jacob Verschryosk or Verskriek).

History: a Polish or Brandenburg merchant ship (a buss, 45 lasts), bound from Emden to Ostend, laden with wheat, rye, hams; taken on 28 April / 7 May 1694, off Texel by HMS Essex (William Wright commanding) and HMS Edgar (Andrew Pedder commanding), and brought into the River Thames.

  • [CP 2-CP 3]: two claims by the cargo owners in Netherlands and the ship owner in Elbing;
  • [CP 4-CP 6]: commission of appraisement, inventory and appraisement;
  • [CP 7-CP 11]: 5 sets of attestations, affidavits and claims, with translations, issed by the ruling authorities of Rotterdam and Emden and Ostend.
