Captured ship: Anna Maria of Amsterdam (master Peter Cock or Cosk).
History: a Dutch [West India Company] merchant ship (130 lasts), bound from Surinam to Amsterdam, laden with sugar, copper, elephants' teeth [ivory], lime juice and wood; taken on 23 November / 4 December 1693 by the French privateer Maupertius of St Malo (Pierre or Louis Trauchant commanding), retaken on 29 November / 9 December 1693 off the Scilly Isles by HMS Weymouth (John Clements commanding), and brought into the Downs.
