Description

Captured ship: Anna Maria of Lübeck (master Tuenes or Tunis or Anthony Aeriansen).

History: a Swedish merchant ship (300 tons, 5 guns, men), bound from Karlskrona to La Rochelle, laden with deals, beef, butter, tallow, pitch, tar and stones; taken on 1/11 January 1693/4, in the English Channel between Dover and Calais. by the privateer Sunesse (Thomas Powell commanding), and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 1-CP 2]: standing interrogatories, four examinations, commissioners' affidavit;
  • [CP 3]: claim of the owners;
  • [CP 4-CP 5]: two copies of abstracts and translations of four parcels of ship's papers (most were returned).

Ship’s Papers numbered SP 1, 5, 9a and 9b, note of the ship's lading, letter, bill(s) of lading.

[Decision: restored, 1 March 1694, but subsequently appealed]
