The Architects Registration Board is a body set up by Parliament as the independent UK regulator of architects. The Board's duties and responsibilities for regulating architects are set out in the 1997 Architects Act. The Board is now a public corporation whose sponsoring department was the Department for Communities and Local Government. It is now sponsored by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
