Folios 248-249: Michael Quin, HMS Raleigh, Sheerness. Regarding the case of Joseph Langmeid, Boatswain's Mate of HMS Raleigh who received a sum of money from a dying man which is corroborated by the attestion of Thomas Fulcher, Cooper of HMS Raleigh.
Folios 250-252: enclosure in folios 248-249. Letter dated 20 October 1838 by Kezia Tviggs to Captain Michael Quin. Concening Jospeh Langmeid (Langmead) who joined HMS Raleigh in the East Indies, having previously served on board the East Indies sloop of war Coote, where she had a brother named Thomas Tviggs, Gunner's Mate who died on board the Coote on 16 Ocotber 1834 on her passage from Mocha to Bombay. Her brother Thomas V. Tviggs made a will in which he would leave all his pay and effects to her and authorised Joseph Langmeid as a brother townsman to receive it on her behalf. She requests that Langmead hands this money to her as she has not yet received it.
Folio 252: Note to say that the papers in this case are to be returned to Whitehall when done with.
