Description

Listing continues from ADM 137/2075/13.

Folios 614-618: Number 190, 4 August 1918. E40, Lieutenant G.D. Sharp, 31 July to 4 August. On Z21 patrol. On 1 August sighted an enemy submarine at (co-ordinates given). On 2 August damaged in gun battle with an enemy submarine in which Lieutenant Sharp was wounded.

Folios 619-621: Number 191, 7 August 1918. G7, Lieutenant Edward Geldard Stanley, 31 July to 4 August. On R patrol. On 29 August hit enemy submarine with a shell. Sighted floating mines.

Folios 622-623: Number 192, 7 August 1918. E44, Lieutenant Gilbert Esdaile Venning, 28 July to 6 August. On T patrol. Sighted Zeppelins.

Folios 624-626: Number 193, 9 August 1918. G13, Lieutenant Frank Delamain Morris, 30 July to 9 August. On Z13 and Y patrols. On 4 August at (co-ordinates given) sighted an enemy submarine but unable to fire due to hydroplane fault.

Folios 627-628: Number 194, 13 August 1918. E27, Lieutenant Douglas Macdonald Hervey-Macleay, 5-13 August. On Z21 patrol. On 6 August avoided torpedoes at (co-ordinates given). On 9 August sighted submarine at (co-ordinates given).

Folios 629-631: Number 195, 13 August 1918. L16, Lieutenant Commander Alfred Gordon Hine, 5-13 August. On R patrol. Sank floating mines.

Folio 632: Number 196. 13 August 1918. Captain (S)’s report on E27. [See folios 627-628].

Folios 633-634: Number 197, 14 August 1918. E39, Lieutenant Commander Frederick Close Crawford Kennedy, 4-14 August. On T patrol near (co-ordinates given). Sighted seaplanes.

Folios 635-636: Number 198, 18 August 1918. G6, Lieutenant Cyril George Bucknill Coltart, 9-18 August. On Z13 patrol near (co-ordinates given). Nothing to report.

Folios 637-640: Number 199, 20 August 1918. G11, Lieutenant Charles Manners Sutton, 1020 August. On Y1 and Y2 patrols. On 16 August fired torpedoes at an enemy submarine at (co-ordinates given), between Udsire and the mainland, inside Norwegian territorial waters.

Folios 641-643: Number 200, 20 August 1918. L12, Lieutenant Commander Philip Esmonde Philips, 12-20 August. On R patrol. Sighted enemy minesweepers operating near (co-ordinates given) probably for one of their submarines.
