Administrative / biographical background

Community Legal Advice is a government-funded advice service, set up by the Legal Services Commission. It is a free and confidential advice service paid for by legal aid which aims to help people England and Wales deal with civil legal problems, and is part of the legal aid scheme in those countries. Until November 2008 the service was known as Community Legal Service Direct.
