Folio 131. Whitehall. Letter from Ja [James] Vernon to Mr [Richard de] Hill. He will endeavour to be as successful for Mr [?Thomas] Ireland as he was for Doctor Nortleigh in relation to which he says 'all the gratitude one would expect from these gentlemen is that they behave themselves, while they are here, that we may be under no reproach for bringing them back'. He says that Lord Stafford is a case they 'must not meddle with 'he being outlawed and those who will venture hither under such circumstances would do well to consider what befell Lord Clancarty'.
